SYMPTOMSAfter a large number of crawls in an Office SharePoint Server 2007 site, the total success count, error count and warning count numbers for a specific content source will be very large. This may cause an arithmetic overflow, and then it will cause the pages to fail to render properly. Specifically, the Crawl Log Administration pages and the Edit Content Source page are the affected ones. This issue is dependent on the number of items being crawled as well. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the Unified Logging Service (ULS) log: <Date> <Time> w3wp.exe (0x24B4) 0x2C40 Windows SharePoint Services General 8dzz High Exception Type: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException Exception Message: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type int.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, apply both of the following updates:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
