The "quickdeployjobs" property in a target site is overwritten in Office SharePoint Server 2007

SYMPTOMS

You deploy a site to another site in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Then, the quickdeployjobs property that records the ID of the quick deploy job from the target site to another site is overwritten. This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • A change is made to the property bags for the source site.
  • An incremental deployment is performed from the source site to the target site.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the following updates:
  • 978392 Description of the Office SharePoint Server 2007 Cumulative Update server hotfix package (Coreserver-x-none.msp): February 23, 2010
  • 978389 Description of the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Cumulative Update server hotfix package (Sts-x-none.msp): February 23, 2010

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
