FIX: When a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device detects that a storage device is inserted, a "Data Abort" exception occurs in the Exfat.dll moduleArticle ID: 979815 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSYou have a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device that uses the extended file allocation table (exFAT) file system. You insert a storage device into this device. When this device detects the storage device, a "Data Abort" exception occurs in the Exfat.dll module. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the detect function in the Exfat.dll module does not check a NULL pointer. Instead, the Exfat.dll module continues to dereference the NULL pointer. RESOLUTIONSoftware update informationA supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 6.0 Platform Builder Monthly Update (February 2010). You can confirm this by scrolling to the "File information" section of this article. The package file name contains the product version, date, Knowledge Base article number, and processor type. The package file name format is:Product version-yymmdd-kbnnnnnn-processor type For example: Wincepb50-060503-kb917590-armv4i.msi is the ARMV4i Windows CE 5.0 Platform Builder fix that is documented in KB article 917590 and that is contained in the May 2006 monthly update.
