SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • In Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, you open a presentation that has slide animations and transitions.
  • On the Slide Show tab, you click Set Up Slide Show in the Set Up group.
  • In the Set Up Show dialog box, you click to select the Show without animations check box under Show option, and then you click OK.
  • In the Start Slide Show group, you click Broadcast Slide Show.
  • You click Start Broadcast. After you connect to the broadcast server, you send the link for the broadcast slide show to the participants of the broadcast.
  • You click Start Slide Show.
In this scenario, the slide show on the presenter's computer has no slide animations. However, the attendees see each slide as if the slide were in the initial state for its animations. Therefore, the attendees may be unable to see the contents of the slide.

Example: One of the slides contains a bulleted list. The list has an animation assigned to it so that the bullet points are displayed incrementally, with a new bullet appearing at each mouse click. In this situation, the presenter can see that all the bullets are present. However, the attendees see only the static elements of the slide and not the bullet points.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Enable slide animations

  1. Open the presentation that you want to broadcast.
  2. On the Slide Show tab, click Set Up Slide Show in the Set Up group.
  3. In the Set Up Show dialog box, click to clear the Show without animations check box under Show options, and then click OK.

Method 2: Remove all animations

  1. Open the presentation that you want to broadcast.
  2. Click the Animations tab, and then in the Advance Animation group, click Animation pane.
  3. For each animation that is listed in the pane, click Remove in the drop-down list.
  4. Repeat step 3 for each slide.
