The input or output stream is redirected incorrectly in a Korn shell

Consider the following scenario:

• You install Subsystem for UNIX-Based Applications (SUA) on a computer that is runningWindows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2 (SP2).
• You redirect the standard input handle and the standard output handle by using a Korn shell that is running a Win32 application.

In this scenario, the input stream or the output stream is redirected incorrectly.

This problem occurs because the Posix.exe module retrieves the input handle and the output handle incorrectly, and then these handles are used to create a child process.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
