Consider the following scenario:
  • You deploy a Microsoft Business Connectivity Services solution on a client computer that is running Microsoft Outlook 2010.
  • The solution maps an external system field to a built-in property field in Outlook 2010, such as the Body property field or the Notes property field.
  • The Outlook 2010 item that was created by the solution is opened in Outlook Inspector.
  • The built-in property field is formatted by using the formatting functions in Outlook 2010.
  • A WordArt object or an Equation object is inserted and formatted in the built-in property field.
  • Changes to the Outlook 2010 item are saved.
In this scenario, when the Outlook 2010 item is deployed and synchronized by the solution on a different client computer that is running Outlook 2010, format information is lost. Additionally, the data that is inserted by the WordArt object or by the Equation object is lost.

Currently, there is no workaround or resolution for this problem.
