SYMPTOMS

You run a Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0-based application that calls the Environment.FailFast method. You expect that a dump file is generated before the application closes. However, a dump file is not generated for the application.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Dr. Watson process in common language runtime (CLR) does not provide a valid context when the Environment.FailFast method is called. Therefore, the WerReportAddDump function returns an E_INVALIDARG error, and no dump file is generated.
