Description of Update Rollup 4 for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0

Microsoft has released an update rollup that is dated April 2010. This update fixes issues in the following components in Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.0:

• Hosted Email 2007 Namespace
• Exchange 2007 Provider

• The issues that the update rollup fixes.
• The prerequisites for installing the update rollup.
• Whether you must restart the computer after you install the update rollup.
• Whether the update rollup is replaced by any other update rollup.
• Whether you must make any registry changes.
• The files that the update rollup contains.

Issues that the update rollup fixes

This update rollup fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

• When you modify a folder, you cannot set the parameters “MaxItemSize", "IssueWarningQuota" and "ProhibitPostQuota". This is because the UseDatabaseQuotaDefault parameter is automatically set to true.
• The CreateFolder procedure in the Hosted Email 2007 namespace may return an error if you create a public folder without setting the value of “issueWarningQuota” parameter.

Update rollup information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

• Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 4.0 and Update Rollup 3 must be installed before you apply this update.
• The logon user should be a member of the Domain Admins Group.
• HMC Deployment Tool must be installed on the first Microsoft Provisioning Server (MPS) Engine server.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Installation information

Note If you have not previously installed Update Rollup 3, before you install this update rollup, you must first install Update Rollup 3. For more information about how to install Update Rollup 3, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
To install this update rollup, follow these steps:

1. Disable and shut down the provisioning engine on all MPS engine servers (MPS0n). To do this, follow these steps:
   1. On the MPS Engine servers, start Component Services.
   2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
   3. Click COM+ Applications.
   4. Right-click Provisioning Engine, click Disable, and then click Stop.
2. Log on to the MPS server as a member of the Domain Admins Group.
3. Start the Deployment Tool to uninstall the following old components:
   • Hosted Email 2007 Namespace
   • Exchange 2007 Provider
4. Extract the rollup package to a temporary location on the MPS server. For example, extract it to the following location:
   C:\temp\QFERollupPackage
5. Copy the following files from the C:\temp\QFERollupPackage folder to the C:\MSIShare\ folder:
   • HostedEmail2007NS.msi
   • Exchange2007Provider.msi
6. Use the Deployment Tool to reinstall these components on the MPS Engine Server. Deploy the updated Web services to each Web Service server.
7. Restart the Provisioning Engine on each MPS server. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. On the MPS Engine servers, start Component Services.
   2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
   3. Click COM+ Applications.
   4. Right-click Provisioning Engine, click Enable, and then click Start.
8. In the Deployment Tool, expand Hosted Exchange, and then expand Exchange Provisioning Configuration, right-click the following nodes, and then execute the following command:

   Initialize Hosted Email 2007 

9. Click Start Deployment.
