SYMPTOMS

On a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device, a memory leak occurs when you use the loopback address to send and to receive many TCP/IP packets. When you continually perform this action, an out-of-memory error may occur. This problem occurs only when the EnhanceTCPSend registry entry is set to 1. This registry entry is under the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip\Parms

CAUSE

This problem occurs because many work items for the TCP/IP packets are continuously created and queued. However, the dispatcher thread is too busy to schedule worker threads in the CXPORT.DLL module to execute and to free all work items. Therefore, a growing number of work items are queued. This behavior results in a memory leak.
