Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a partition in a cube in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS 2008) or SSAS 2008 R2 .
  • You process an index of the partition.
  • A member is removed from a dimension. Or, the dimension key is changed.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'pffilestorefilegroup.cpp', line 1483, function 'PFFileStoreGroup::ReadPage')

CAUSE

When a member is removed or when the dimension key is changed, a record is deleted as expected. However, the page that contains the deleted record is corrupted.
