Technical overview

This sample shows how to create a Windows Forms design time custom property tab for a property that has an API under the System.Windows.Forms.PropertyGridInternal namespace. After you build the sample, you see a custom user control that is named "UC_CustomPropertyTab" in the Microsoft Visual Studio toolbox. When you drag the control onto the test form, the custom property tab appears in the Properties window of Visual Studio. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Drag the control from the Visual Studio toolbox onto the test form.

  2. The design time custom property tab appears in the Properties window of Visual Studio.

  3. Select the custom property tab icon (red “C”) to see the TestProp property.
