FIX: A SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services or SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services report that contains a table with a child group does not comply with the Section 508 standards

SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services report, you create a table that contains a child group. The child group has a group footer in the table. When you view the report, you notice that the cells in the group footer do not comply with the standards in the Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Standards (Section 508) document of the Federal Rehabilitation Act. For example, when you use screen readers to translate the report, you notice that the cells in the child group footer are not translated correctly. Specifically, the cells are not associated with the table headers.

Note This issue also occurs in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 hotfixes are created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply a SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1. By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.
