FIX: BTARN 3.3 intermittently writes incorrect values to the GlobalBusinessActionCode element when you use BTARN 3.3 to process RNIF messages

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, you use Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for RosettaNet (BTARN) 3.3 to process RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF) messages. However, BTARN 3.3 intermittently writes incorrect values to the GlobalBusinessActionCode element that is contained in the service header of some partners. Specifically, BTARN 3.3 writes business document descriptions of the process configuration setting to the GlobalBusinessActionCode element. You expect BTARN 3.3 to write the global business action to the GlobalBusinessActionCode element.

For example, BTARN 3.3 produces a service header for a Partner Interface Process (PIP) 3A4 confirmation message. The service header contains the following code:
<ActionIdentity>
     <GlobalBusinessActionCode>Formally confirms the status of line item(s) in a Purchase Order. A Purchase Order line item may have one of the following states: accepted, rejected, or pending.</GlobalBusinessActionCode>
     <InstanceIdentifier>Instance.Identifier</InstanceIdentifier>
     <VersionIdentifier>V02.00</VersionIdentifier>
</ActionIdentity>



However, the correct service header should include the following code:
<ActionIdentity>
     <description>
	<FreeFormText xml:lang=”EN”>Formally confirms the status of line item(s) in a Purchase Order. A Purchase Order line item may have one of the following states: accepted, rejected, or pending.</FreeFormText>
     </description>
     <GlobalBusinessActionCode>Purchase Order Confirmation Action</GlobalBusinessActionCode>
     <InstanceIdentifier>Instance.Identifier</InstanceIdentifier>
     <VersionIdentifier>V02.00</VersionIdentifier>
</ActionIdentity>

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

You must have BizTalk Server 2006 and Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for RosettaNet 3.3 installed to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, you must restart the BizTalk Host Instance services after you apply this hotfix. For more information, see the Readme.txt file that is included in the hotfix package.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time.
