SYMPTOMS

BACKSPACE may not work correctly when you use the Korean Input Method Editor (IME) to type Korean characters in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Code Editor. For example, BACKSPACE must be pressed two times to delete the final letter of any Hangul character while in composition mode.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

MORE INFORMATION

Although this bug affects only Korean characters, it affects Korean text in all languages and all versions of Visual Studio. This hotfix applies to all supported operating systems for Visual Studio 2010.
