Article ID: 983631 - Last Review: June 18, 2010 - Revision: 2.0 "redirect it to people or distribution list" rule does not work on an Exchange Server 2010 mailbox address
SYMPTOMSAs a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 user, you create a "redirect it to people or distribution list" rule by using Microsoft Office Outlook. However, this rule does not work if there is no recipient in the To field or in the Cc field. CAUSEThis problem occurs because an incorrect logic exists in Exchange Server 2010 during the redirect operation. When the outgoing email message contains no recipient in the To field or in the Cc field, Exchange Server 2010 treats the email message as a broken email message and does not redirect it. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, install the following update rollup: 982639
