However, the list of supported formats in the Sound item may be incorrect. This problem may occur when you use a legacy audio device that has hardware controls that can change the format of the device. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the driver for the legacy device is incompatible with Windows Vista. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, contact your independent hardware vendor to obtain a Windows Vista-compatible driver for your audio device.
