SYMPTOMS

When you insert a MultiMediaCard (MMC) into the secure digital (SD) slot of a Dell XPS M1210 laptop that is running a clean installation of Windows Vista, the MMC is not recognized.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the SD slot controller does not behave as a standard controller.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the SD drivers and the MMC drivers from Dell. For more information about how to do this, and to download the drivers that are compatible with Windows Vista, contact Dell by visiting the following Dell Web site:
