Consider the following scenario.
On a Windows Vista-based computer that includes a Windows SideShow-compatible device, you change the device settings in Control Panel. For example, you open the Windows SideShow item in Control Panel, and then you open the Change Device Settings window. Then, you perform one of the following actions:
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you reopen the Change Device Settings window after you restart either the device or the computer but before the device is completely initialized. In this situation, the Change Device Settings window displays the default settings instead of the updated settings.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
