Error message when you repeatedly use a shortcut within a brief time frame to start the Picture Library on a Windows Vista-based computer: "Media Center has stopped working"

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • On a Windows Vista-based computer, you have a keyboard shortcut or some other shortcut to the Picture Library in Windows Media Center. Use this shortcut repeatedly within a brief time frame to start the Picture Library.
  • On a Windows Vista-based computer, the keyboards that are manufactured by Premier Original Equipment Manufacturer (Premier OEM) have the shortcut button to start Windows Media Center. Press the button to start Windows Media Center right away.
In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Media Center has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not repeatedly use the shortcut within a brief time frame. In other words, use the shortcut one time, and then wait for the program to start.
