You cannot interact with certain tiles in Windows Mobility Center when you establish a Remote Desktop session to a mobile PC that is running Windows Vista

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You establish a Remote Desktop connection to a mobile PC that is running Windows Vista. In the Remote Desktop session, you open Windows Mobility Center on the mobile PC. However, you find that you cannot interact with certain tiles in Windows Mobility Center. For example, you cannot use the Wireless Network tile to turn off the wireless connection. Or, you cannot use the Screen Orientation tile on a Tablet PC.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you do not use elevated administrator credentials to run Windows Mobility Center in the Remote Desktop session.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use elevated administrator credentials to run Windows Mobility Center. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start

    , and then type Mblctr.exe in the Start Search box.
  2. In the Programs list, right-click Mblctr, and then click Run as administrator.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue
