A custom desktop background image does not appear when you start a network presentation on a mobile PC that is running Windows Vista

SYMPTOMS

On a mobile PC that is running Windows Vista, you use the Presentation Settings tile of Windows Mobility Center to turn on presentation settings. Then, you configure a custom desktop background image. However, when you start a network presentation, the custom desktop background image does not appear. Instead, the desktop background is reset to the None setting.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you turn on presentation settings before you connect to the network projector.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, connect to the network projector. Then, set the presentation settings that you want.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
