The preinstalled Norwegian version of Windows Vista may display parts of the user interface incorrectly. For example, Windows Vista may contain one or more of the following:

• English text
• Truncated text
• Linguistic errors

This problem occurs even after you install update 932635.

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

• The preinstalled Norwegian version of Windows Vista contains an incorrect version of the translated user interface.
• You installed update 932635 between March 13 and March 26, 2007, by using Windows Update.

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Vista. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: To resolve this problem, install update 935759 by using Windows Update. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click the following link to visit the Windows Update Web site:
   http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
2. Follow the instructions to install any components that Windows Update requires.
3. When "Welcome to Windows Update" appears, click Custom to scan for updates.
4. Under Recommended Updates, click to select update 935759.
5. Click Review and Install Updates, and then click Install Updates.

Note If you did not install update 932635 between March 13 and March 26, 2007, by using Windows Update, this problem does not apply to you. In this situation, Windows Update does not list update 935759 as a recommended update.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

To determine whether a computer is affected by this problem, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Kontrollpanel.
2. Click Klassisk visning.
3. Click Strømalternativer.
4. Click Endre planinnstillinger (any setting).
5. Click Endre avanserte strøminnstillinger.
6. Expand Strømknapper og deksel.
7. Examine Strømknapp for startmenyen.

If you see Av/på-knapp på Start-menyen and Av/på-knapper og deksel under Endre avanserte strøminnstillinger, the computer is not experiencing this problem.
