SYMPTOMS

When you use the Profile Quota Manager tool (Proquota.exe) in Windows Vista, you may receive an incorrect warning that your profile quota has been exceeded. However, you can save files that are associated with your roaming profile to the correct directory on the server.

Note The Profile Quota Manager tool is invoked by the Limit Profile Size policy.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Profile Quota Manager tool in Windows Vista incorrectly includes temporary index files for the user's registry when it calculates the total folder size. These temporary files are located in the user's profile root folder. However, these files are not used for the roaming profile.

RESOLUTION

You can safely ignore this warning. The warning is incorrect.
