After you upgrade a computer from Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) to Windows Vista, a second Language bar appears on the desktop. This problem occurs if an Input Method Editor (IME) was enabled in Windows XP.
To work around this problem, right-click the Language bar, and then do one of the following:
- Click Minimize to reduce the Language bar to an icon on the taskbar.
- Click Close to disable the Language bar. By doing this, you remove the Language bar from the desktop. This action does not disable any text services.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
