Description of the Microsoft Windows registry SYMPTOMSOn a Windows Vista-based computer, the Telephony service may not start. When you try to manually start the Telephony service, you may receive the following error message: Windows could not start the Telephony service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Event ID: 7000

CAUSEThis problem occurs because the value for the ImagePath registry entry is incorrect. RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
