A word still has an "Add" option after you add the word to the dictionary by using the Windows Vista Tablet PC Input Panel

SYMPTOMS

You add a word to the dictionary by using the Windows Vista Tablet PC Input Panel. After you do this, you notice that the word still has an Add option.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the text trainer database is corrupted and cannot be recovered.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, reset the trainer database. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start

    , and then click Control Panel.
  2. Right-click Tablet PC Settings, and then click Open.
  3. Click the Handwriting Recognition tab.
  4. Click Don’t use automatic learning, and delete any previously collected data, and then click Apply.
  5. Click Use automatic learning (recommended), and then click OK.
