Consider the following scenario:
- You format a DVD-R disc on a Windows Vista-based computer.
- You record some data on the DVD-R disc by using a consumer electronics DVD recorder.
- You format the DVD-R disc again on the Windows Vista-based computer.
- You record more data on the DVD-R disc by using the consumer electronics DVD recorder.
- You insert the DVD-R disc into the Windows Vista-based computer again.
In this scenario, the computer does not detect the DVD-R disc.
This problem occurs because the consumer electronics DVD recorder does not expect the DVD-R disc to be a multisession disc.
To work around this problem, do not record data to the multisession DVD-R disc by using a consumer electronics recorder. Or, do not make a multisession DVD-R disc if the disc might be used in a consumer electronics recorder.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
