Why do I receive the following error message when I use Windows Explorer in Windows Vista to rename folders: "The file or folder does not exist"

Error message description

When you use Windows Explorer in Windows Vista to rename folders, you receive the following error message:
The file or folder does not exist

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Copy the following text, and then paste it into a new Notepad document:

  2. On the File menu, click Save As.
  3. In the Save as type list, click All Files (*.*).
  4. In the File name box, type RenameFolders.reg, and then click Save.
  5. Close Notepad.
  6. Double-click the RenameFolders.reg file, and then click Yes.

  7. Right-click the RenameFolders.reg file, click Delete, and then click Yes.
