7.8 gigabytes (GB) of data or more to a DVD+R Dual Layer (DL) disc on a Windows Vista-based computer, the operation may fail. This problem may occur
even though the capacity of the disc has not been reached. This issue may occur
on some dual-layer DVD burners whose firmware performs a consistency check
on the command length.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
