SUMMARY

When you use the Function Wizard in Microsoft Excel, you cannot automatically enter a function as an array.

WORKAROUND

To enter an array formula when you are using the Function Wizard, do the following:

  1. Select the range on your worksheet where the array formula is to be entered.
  2. Use the Function Wizard to enter your formula. When your formula is complete, choose the Finish button.

Your formula will now occupy a single cell (usually the upper-left cell) in the range.
  3. In Microsoft Excel for Windows, press F2 and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.

In Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, press COMMAND+U, and then press COMMAND+RETURN.
Your formula should now be entered as an array.
