To configure the Remote Mail features for the Microsoft Mail service in Microsoft Exchange, Dial-Up Networking must be installed and you must have a Microsoft Exchange profile containing the Microsoft Mail service.

To configure the Remote Mail features, follow these steps:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Mail And Fax.
  2. Click Show Profiles.
  3. Click the appropriate profile, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Microsoft Mail service, and then click Properties.
  5. On the Connection tab, click "Remote using a modem and Dial-Up Networking."
  6. On the Remote Configuration tab, select the appropriate options.
  7. On the Dial-Up Networking tab, click the appropriate connectoid in the "Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection" box.
  8. On the Remote Session tab, select the appropriate options.
  9. Click OK until you return to Control Panel.
