To change the color of the blinking insertion point in some Windows-based programs, you can change the color of the Windows background. The insertion point color is usually the inverse of the Windows background color. For example, a black background uses a white insertion point.

To change the Windows background color, follow these steps:
  1. Start Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Color icon.
  3. Click Color Palette.
  4. In the Screen Element box, click Window Background.
  5. Click the color you want to use for the Windows background.
  6. Click OK.
These steps change the background color in all Windows screens. To determine the new insertion point color, start a program (such as Write or Notepad) and view the insertion point. Note that changing the Windows background color may change the color used when you select text in some programs (such as Write).
