Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0 and Microsoft Excel 97 for
Windows, contain a filter to open Quattro Pro for Windows, version 5.0
(WB1), files. However, objects such as drawing objects, OLE objects,
and most commonly, Chart objects, contained in the .WB1 file fail to be
converted and will not display.
NOTE: Files created in Quattro Pro for Windows, version 6.0, and saved in the .WB1 format (instead of the Quattro Pro 6.0 file format of .WB2) behave the same way. CAUSE
This problem occurs because the filter for .WB1 files does not support
the conversion of any objects. This behavior is by design of Microsoft
Excel.
RESOLUTION
You can convert the objects contained in .WB1 files by saving the file
as a different file type. To do this, use the following steps:
MORE INFORMATION
The file filter for Quattro Pro for Windows files (.WB1) opens the
files read-only. The files open read-only because the filter allows
Microsoft Excel to read the file format, but does not allow Microsoft
Excel to save in that format (.WB1).
