SUMMARY

When you use Publisher to create a Web Page, you cannot open the resulting HTML code using the Internet Assistant for Microsoft Word. To open Publisher-created Web Pages, you must use a different HTML editing program, such as the Editor program that ships with Microsoft FrontPage.

MORE INFORMATION

Publisher is capable of creating very complex page layouts. When these layouts are converted to HTML, Publisher must use an HTML feature called nested tables. Nested tables are basically one table inserted into a single cell of another table.

Microsoft Word does not support placing one table within a single cell of another, and thus cannot open an HTML document that has nested tables. The Microsoft FrontPage Editor does support nested tables.
