SUMMARY

When you perform a mail merge in Publisher 97 the field names may be truncated when viewing field codes. When you're in Show Field Codes mode you may find that field names containing more than 63 characters are truncated in your publication. This is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Publisher 97 limits the length of a specific field name to 63 characters. Databases created outside of Publisher can exceed this limit; however, when merged into Publisher they are truncated to 254 characters.
