PUB97: System Requirements for Publisher 97

This article lists the system requirements for installing and running Microsoft Publisher 97.

To use Microsoft Publisher 97, you need:

• A personal computer with a 386DX or higher processor (486DX or higher recommended) running the Microsoft Windows 95 operating system or Windows NT Workstation version 3.51 or higher
• 6 MB of RAM (8 MB or more recommended) for Windows 95; 12 MB (or higher) on Windows NT
• A Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
• One 3.5" disk drive (disk version) or one CD-ROM drive (CD-ROM version)
• A VGA or higher-resolution monitor.

Optional

The following system components are not required, but useful when using Microsoft Publisher 97.

• Scanners, plotters, and printers supported by Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows NT
• 9600 (or higher) baud modem required for online features (28,800 baud recommended)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or compatible World Wide Web browser: required for Microsoft Design Gallery Live and Web Site Preview
• World Wide Web access required for Microsoft Design Gallery Live (online service must be acquired separately and may require a monthly fee.)

Hard disk space

• Typical installation: 116 MB (CD-ROM version), 72 MB (disk version)
• Minimum installation: 9.5 MB

The CD-ROM version includes 140 MB of clip art in addition to the typical installation that you can either install or run from the CD- ROM drive.
