This article lists the system requirements for installing and running
Microsoft Publisher 97.
To use Microsoft Publisher 97, you need:
- A personal computer with a 386DX or higher processor (486DX or
higher recommended) running the Microsoft Windows 95 operating
system or Windows NT Workstation version 3.51 or higher
- 6 MB of RAM (8 MB or more recommended) for Windows 95; 12 MB (or
higher) on Windows NT
- A Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
- One 3.5" disk drive (disk version) or one CD-ROM drive (CD-ROM
version)
- A VGA or higher-resolution monitor.
Optional
The following system components are not required, but useful when
using Microsoft Publisher 97.
- Scanners, plotters, and printers supported by Microsoft Windows 95
or Microsoft Windows NT
- 9600 (or higher) baud modem required for online features (28,800
baud recommended)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or compatible World Wide Web
browser: required for Microsoft Design Gallery Live and Web Site

- World Wide Web access required for Microsoft Design Gallery Live
(online service must be acquired separately and may require a
monthly fee.)
Hard disk space
- Typical installation: 116 MB (CD-ROM version), 72 MB (disk version)
- Minimum installation: 9.5 MB
The CD-ROM version includes 140 MB of clip art in addition to the
typical installation that you can either install or run from the CD-
ROM drive.
