OFF97: Pointer Movement Problems Playing Camcorder Movie

SYMPTOMS

When you play back an Audio-Video Interleaved (.avi) file that you create in Microsoft Camcorder 97, pointer movements appear jerky when the pointer is moved, and some items on drop-down lists are not selected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft Camcorder records actions at a rate of six times per second. When you move the pointer quickly across the screen, or you move the pointer through items on a drop-down list during recording, Microsoft Camcorder fails to record all the mouse actions.

RESOLUTION

To obtain smoother results when you play back the movie, move the pointer more slowly when you record the movie.

REFERENCES

For information about recording a movie, double-click "Microsoft Camcorder," and then double-click the "Record a movie" topic in Microsoft Camcorder Help.
