SUMMARY

If you want to write your own Custom Gateway Interface (CGI), Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI), or Internet Database Connector (IDC) scripts or programs, you must upgrade to the Microsoft Personal Web server and switch your existing content to this server.

Step-by-step instructions for switching your existing content to the Microsoft Personal Web Server are available from the following sources:
  • The FrontPage compact disc (look in the \PWS\UPGRADE directory).
  • The Microsoft Personal Web Server Setup program. If the FrontPage Personal Web Server is currently configured to work with FrontPage, you can access the step-by-step instructions when you install the Microsoft Personal Web Server.

MORE INFORMATION

If you do not want to write your own CGI, ISAPI, or IDC scripts or programs using the Microsoft Personal Web Server, you do not need to upgrade from the FrontPage Personal Web Server to the Microsoft Personal Web Server.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft FrontPage 97 Standard Edition
