PUB97: How To Uninstall the Trial Version of Publisher 97

The Trial Version of Publisher 97 has the same setup program as the retail version of the program. This article describes how to remove the Trial Version of Publisher 97.

Use one of the following methods to remove the Trial Version of Publisher 97 from your computer:

Method 1: Use Control Panel

This method works with Windows 95 and Windows NT, version 4.0:

1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. Click Microsoft Publisher 97 on the list of installed programs, and then click Add/Remove.
   
   Publisher Setup starts.
4. Click the Remove All button.

Method 2: Manually Run Setup from the Setup Folder

This method works with Windows 95 and Windows NT, versions 3.51 and 4.0. The steps below assume that you installed the Trial Version of Publisher 97 into its default folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Publisher).

1. Run File Manager or Windows Explorer.
2. Open the following folder on your hard disk:

         C:\Program Files\Microsoft Publisher
   						

   NOTE: If you installed the program to a different drive and/or folder, substitute the name of that folder in this step.
3. Open the Setup subfolder.
4. Double-click the Setup.exe file.
   
   Publisher Setup starts.
5. Click the Remove All button.

Method 3: Manually Run Setup from the Distribution Media

This method works with Windows 95 and Windows NT, versions 3.51 and 4.0. These steps assume you obtained the Trial Version of Publisher 97 on compact disc.

1. Insert the Publisher 97 compact disc into your CD-ROM drive.
2. From File Manager or Windows Explorer, open the CD-ROM drive.
3. Run the program called Setup.exe in the root folder of the compact disc.
   
   Publisher Setup starts.
4. Click the Remove All button.
