How to Search for Multiple Files with a Single Search

This article describes how to search for multiple files with a single search.

To search for multiple files with a single search, follow these steps:

1. Click the Start button, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
2. In the Named box, type all or part of the name you want to search for. For example, to search for all files with the .bat extension, type:
   *.bat
   
   To search for multiple files, type each file type separated by a semicolon (;). For example:
   win.ini;*.bat;*.sys
   
   This search lists all files ending in .bat or .sys, and the Win.ini file in the target location.
3. In the Look In box, click the location you want to search.
4. Click Find Now.
