This article describes how to filter Internet newsgroup messages in
Outlook Express.
MORE INFORMATION
To set up a newsgroup message filter in Outlook Express, click Newsgroup
Filters on the Tools menu. To add a filter, click Add. In the Groups box,
click the messages you want to filter. You can choose to filter all
messages from all servers, only messages from a specific server, or
messages from a specific newsgroup on a specific server.
You can filter messages based on the following criteria:
To filter messages by the message subject, type a portion or a complete subject line in the Subject box. To filter messages by size, click the Message Has More Than check box to select it, and click a value in the Lines box. To filter messages by the length of time the message has been on the server, click the Messages Posted More Than check box to select it, and then click a value in the Days box. When you are done creating the filter, click OK. You can add more filters as you need them, change the filter order by clicking a filter and then clicking Move Up or Move Down, or remove a filter by clicking it and then clicking Remove. Note that filters are not applied to the current newsgroup until you close and reopen that newsgroup by either quitting and restarting Outlook Express or by viewing another newsgroup and then the original newsgroup.
