Audio Problems with Cirrus Logic PD6832 CardBus Controller

SYMPTOMS

On a computer with a Cirrus Logic CL-PD6832 CardBus controller running Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2), audio output may be distorted or inaudible while you are starting Windows or simultaneously transferring files.

CAUSE

Certain registers in the CL-PD6832 chip set are not interpreted correctly by Windows 95, resulting in a direct memory access (DMA) channel conflict.

STATUS

This problem no longer occurs in Windows 98. To resolve this problem, install the current version of Windows. For information about the current version of Windows, visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows (http://www.microsoft.com/windows) .
