When you disable image downloading in an Active Desktop item's
subscription properties, images are still downloaded and displayed
when the Active Desktop item's subscription is updated.
The Active Desktop is refreshed every time an Active Desktop item's
subscription is updated. When this occurs, the Active Desktop downloads
and displays the images for the Active Desktop item even though image
downloading is disabled in the Active Desktop item's subscription
properties.
To prevent images from being downloaded when an Active Desktop item's
subscription is updated, you must disable image downloading in both the
subscription and in Internet Explorer. To do so, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Programs, click Windows Explorer, and then
double-click Windows.
In the Windows folder, double-click the Offline Web Pages folder,
right-click the Active Desktop component for which you want to
disable image downloading, and then click Properites.
On the Download tab, click Advanced.
In the "Items to download on pages" section, click the Images check
box to clear it, click OK, and then click OK again.
In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu, and
then click the Advanced tab.
Under Multimedia, click the Show Pictures check box to clear it,
and then click OK.
If image downloading is disabled in Internet Explorer only, images are
still downloaded when the Active Desktop item's subscription is updated,
but they are not displayed in the Active Desktop item.
