SYMPTOMS

The Help for Microsoft Frontpage Express states in the "Introducing Microsoft Frontpage Express" section, second paragraph:
"FrontPage Express also works with the Customize this Folder wizard (on the View menu in My Computer) so that you can easily customize how your folders appear."
However, if you try to use the wizard to customize a folder, the wizard starts the Notepad program instead of Frontpage Express.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, associate Hypertext Template files with FrontPage Express. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Double-click My Computer, and then click Folder Options on the View menu.
  2. Click the File Types tab.
  3. In the Registered File Types box, click HyperText Template, and then click Edit.
  4. Click New, type edit, and then click Browse.
  5. Double-click Program Files, double-click FrontPage Express, double- click Bin, and then double-click the Fpxpress.exe file.
  6. Click OK, click Close, and then click Close.
