When you attempt to use Internet Explorer to view files on a File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) site, you may receive the following Dr. Watson error
message:
Explorer.exe Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x01ed4623 CAUSE
This error message can occur when McAfee PCFirewall is installed on your
computer. PCFirewall replaces the Windows NT Wsock32.dll file with its own
version of the Wsock32.dll file.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, replace the Wsock32.dll file with the Windows NT
version of the Wsock32.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:
NOTE: McAfee PCFirewall version 1.0.2 uses its own version of the Wsock32.dll file for its firewall functionality. Replacing the PCFirewall version of the Wsock32.dll file disables PCFirewall.
