WD98: Vertical Text in Table Printed Beyond Table Boundary

In Word, when you print document that contains a table, the text may overflow the table boundaries.

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

• You change the text direction (on the Tables And Borders toolbar click Change Text Direction)
  
  -and-
• The text overflows the table boundaries

Example

If you have more text within a single table cell than will fit within the boundaries of the table cell, the text is "clipped" when you print it. If you change text direction, the text is printed (in a vertical direction) as follows:

To work around this problem, limit the amount of text within a single table cell such that it does not overflow the table cell boundaries.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
