This article was previously published under Q177569

SYMPTOMS

When you print characters that are placed on top of an object and that are formatted with either Emboss or Engrave character formatting, the characters over the object are printed as if they have two white letters printed over a gray one.

This behavior is incorrect. The text should be printed as a single white letter over a single gray letter.

WORKAROUND

Do not apply Emboss or Engrave character formatting when printing over an object.

To remove the Emboss or Engrave character formatting, follow these steps:

  1. Select the text for which you want to remove the Emboss or Engrave character formatting.
  2. On the Format menu, click Font, and then click the Font tab.
  3. Under Effects, click to clear the Emboss or Engrave check box, and then click OK.
