When a Macintosh user adds, deletes, or changes a comment on a file located
on a computer running Windows NT Server 4.0 and running Services For
Macintosh, the date and time stamps on the file are changed as viewed by
both Macintosh and PC users. This is not correct behavior in a Macintosh
environment. In this case, altering a comment does not constitute a change
to a file.
CAUSE
Services for Macintosh relies on NTFS, which is a different operation than
HFS uses by the Macintosh computer. Any change to a file will cause the
date and time stamps to be altered.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

How to Obtain the Latest Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack
