When you attempt to use the Registration wizard to register Windows
online, you may receive the following error message:
The Registration wizard cannot run because the information it
requires from the system is either unavailable or incorrect.
CAUSE
This error message can occur if you attempt to start the Registration
wizard by running the Regwiz.exe file from a command line, or by double-
clicking the Regwiz.exe file located in the Windows\System folder.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, follow the steps in the appropriate section
below:

The Regwiz.exe file is used by all Microsoft programs that can be
registered online. You cannot start the Registration wizard by double-
clicking the Regwiz.exe file located in the Windows\System folder. To
start the Registration wizard using a command line, you must provide the
location where the program's registration information is stored in the
registry. For example, to start the Registration wizard to register
Windows online, use the following command line:
regwiz /i "software\microsoft\windows\currentversion" | Article Translations
