SYMPTOMS

When you open a page that contains form field validation for a radio button form field, the validation for the radio button is no longer there. You may also find that the validation has been applied to the next form field in your form.

CAUSE

FrontPage creates validation for a radio button successfully and you can preview the validation. However, when you close and reopen the page that contains the validation, FrontPage removes the script required for the validation and the <!--webbot --> tags required to recognize the validation for the radio button.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. In FrontPage Editor, open the page that contains the radio button.
  2. Right-click the radio button form field and then click Form Field Validation on the menu that appears.
  3. Click to select the Data Required check box and then click OK.
  4. Save the page and close FrontPage Editor.
NOTE: You must repeat these steps every time you open a page that contains form field validation for a radio button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
